Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well, it's been a while yet again, but I wanted to send a Merry Christmas greeting and Happy New Year of course! Tim and I have been extremely busy getting ready for the holidays. Here are a few pictures of our tree and decorating:

The kids had a great Christmas, but I didn't get as many pictures of them as I would like:

The Honeymoon

We went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for the honeymoon, to the Sandals resort. We had a wonderful time. These pics are the view along the 2 hour bus drive from the airport.







































After the drive, we went right to our room. There are more pics on Tim's camera, but these are of the room.

Long Overdue

This is a very long overdue update. From the recently added pictures, you can see that the wedding has taken place. It was a beautiful day and everything went perfect and smooth. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was chilly for most, about 55 degrees, but in that dress and the layers I had on, I was very comfortable. The sun was shining. It was wonderful. Tim was so handsome in his tux. He said I took his breath away as I was walking down the aisle. And he did indeed have a tear in his eye when he saw me. I just received the proofs from the day, and as soon as we have them picked out, I will add more pictures here. Besides getting married and being so darn happy, we were treated to some celebrities at our reception place. The Goo Goo Dolls were in Buffalo for a wedding also, and the reception happened to be at the same banquet hall as mine. I did get my picture taken with Johnny Goo (that's what I call him). He was very kind and sweet. As soon as I get the digital from my aunt, I will post. Separately, Tim had his picture taken with him and Robby too. I think the rest of the band was there, but I really was excited to see Johnny.

On another note, we moved into the house the end of September. I have to upload the pictures for that too. It's wonderful and HUGE. I don't care what Tim says, this is plenty of space for us. We don't have enough "stuff" to fill it. But I will fix that in NO time, I assure you! It's great to be in our home and finally be able to relax now. The hype is over, at least until Christmas, only 48 days left, btw. Anyway, I am trying to figure out where to start in settling things in this place, and which room gets painted first. I still need furniture and curtains and blinds and shades, oh my. So, it's never ending, but at least we are in. We are ready for guests so let me know when you want to visit! :-)

I promise to update the pictures this weekend. I should have some time. And as more wedding pictures are sent to me, I will add them. Oh and the appropriate ones from the honeymoon too.

Speaking of, Ocho Rios was phenomenal. I did marry the best man ever. He surprised me with flower petals and champagne 2 different nights. We had the best suite ever with a private pool and hot tub... it was heaven. It will probably never happen again, but, it was wonderful and I am so glad we splurged.

Hope all of you are safe and well. I miss my friends over yonder. It's not the same back home.

Made it Home...

We made it home and things are really moving along with the house! I have to attach the photos, but wow! I am so impressed with the builder. In fact I got a call from them today that the insulation is already done and they will start the drywall tomorrow! I might get moved in before I get back to work!

It's interesting being home. I think we've finally adjusted to the time again. There have been some lazy days, but really, I think we've earned it. Next week is going to be a busy week in WNY, but we are ready for it.

In other exciting news, I hope my brother won't mind, but he and his wife are expecting again, FINALLY! I am so excited for them. Jason is eager to be a big brother and told Jen he thinks it's a girl. We will know in late February/early March.

That's about it for now. We have a couples shower tomorrow at my cousin's place and I am looking forward to seeing some friends that I haven't seen in sooooo long! I will update again after that event!

One More Week

It's finally coming to an end. In one week, Tim and I will be departing and heading home for good. I am so excited to get out of here and back to the real world. I am well aware that I am in for some rude awakenings, but I am ready for it, I think. I am ready to become his wife, I am ready for the next chapter, I am ready for becoming a homeowner. All great things to look forward to.

We have a lot to do for the wedding planning when we get back to the States. Look for more to come on that!

The working out and eating better seems to be going well. It's just so hard. I have been doing a workout DVD with Jillian from The Biggest Loser. I hate her. She makes me hurt. But I keep at it because it's not too difficult and I am feeling it. I think in time, I will lose some of the excess before the wedding. That's all I want. To shed some pounds and look a little healthier. I have a lot to live for.

I hope all is well and I get to talk to everyone on the phone or in person soon! I can't wait to see you at the shower Ercul. It's been a long time and I am so anxious to get caught up and share stories!

Just 13 days left...

Wow, it's been over a week since I last posted... I guess that means I was busy, right? Indeed I have been. We've packed most of our stuff out and we're left with only the items to hand carry back home. We are anxiously awaiting our departure date, just 13 days from now we will be heading back home!

On the wedding front, it appears my dress will be in on 1 August. I have asked my sister to reach out to the cake lady and let her know we will be picking our cake design when we get home the week of 18 August (home being Buffalo). Um, I think that's about it for the wedding.

The house. They are framing it this week. YAY! I Googled it on Google Earth and that map is all wrong. Just so those of you who are trying to watch the progress. It's still showing a dirt patch when that section is pretty well complete in the development, except for my house. It's one of the last to be built. Yay me!

Thanks Ercul for the advice on the weight loss. I am still trying, won't give up, but man it's hard. Perhaps it will be better when I return home and I am cooking my meals again and can get to a grocery store to buy all the healthy snacks. We have a new policy in my office that fruit is the only snack allowed in the office. It's OUR choice, not dictated by management. My good friend Rockstar (aka Jenni), in the pictures to the left with the dark hair, is trying with me. It's good to have a buddy. And as I write this, it's just after 4, I just finished my shower after my workout... so I am trying!

Other than that, I am heading back to the office now. I miss everyone and hope that things are going well wherever you are. Sister Jenny, keep smiling. I appreciate all that you are doing for me!

Another day closer...

We are getting closer to the end of this place, and I can't wait to get out. The money will be missed, but I am ready to start the next phase of my life. It's not been easy these past few months. I have been struggling with a lot.

On a positive, they started building our house last week, almost 2 weeks ago now I guess. I got an email from the builder. I can't wait to get home and see it all come together. I am anxious to be a homeowner and get settled in. Scared to take on the mortgage, but it's part of the process I suppose. I will add photos as soon as we get home to see the progress.

I am struggling with my weight again. And I am not happy about it. I have maintained for the most part these past few months, but really, I haven't lost anything since I first got here. I do hope that I can find a way to get back on track. Right now I feel completely out of control. I don't feel attractive and I know it bothers Tim, my attitude, not the way I look. Perhaps when I am stateside again I can go back to weight watchers or maybe try Jenny or nutrisystem. I don't know, but I don't want to look or feel like this on my wedding day.

Getting the hang of this

So I think I finally get this thing... I am looking at other blogs and seeing that the range of what people share is quite broad... so really, I can just sit here and ramble about nothing. And if someone reads it, cool, if not, that's ok too, it's fun for me to play around with! :-)

Things at work are starting to get a little boring and uneventful. I suppose that's good, but I am not the type to sit idle. I am trying to make the most of it. There are some fun times in the office too, so that helps a lot!

I still haven't heard about my wedding dress. I am starting to get nervous about it too. I ordered the dress and paid for it in full, back in January. The owner told me it would be in around May or June, so that wasn't a problem. It's July. I called her last week and she said, gee, I am not sure where it is, I guess I'll try to track that down for you in the next 30 days before you get home... do ya think? I really don't want to have to get a lawyer, but really, isn't 7 months long enough to get the dress in her store? I hope I am overreacting.

Other than that, not a lot else going on. I am up early today and cleaning, another dust storm. They are pretty common right now. I will be happy to be free of them!

Still trying to figure this out...

I don't know where one starts on this thing, so I guess I just dive right in. Tim and I (aka Bones and Disney) are doing great. We are eager to leave this job site and get back to the States. Our house should be getting started this week, and I hope to get home to some walls being framed the beginning of August. I am terrified of being a homeowner, but I guess it's also the next phase of life.
I will add pictures of the house being built as soon as I get home to take them!

Wedding plans are coming together. I believe there is a shower planned for me in the next month or so. I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends and family. It's been a long time since I have had a chance to catch up with some of you! Be prepared for talking off your ears!

Since I am still new at this, I guess for now I will go get ready for work and see what the rest of the day brings...

Trying something new...
