While she isn't a baby, she is a puppy and a very young one to make her almost like a human baby. And oh the work. But, I am in love with her already and it hasn't been a week yet. Her name is Zena (very similar to the Warrior Princess). She's a handful right now, but we are quite certain she will grow to be a muscle dog, thus Zena. She's an American Staffordshire Terrier. And when you look at her, how can you resist?!?!

Tim and I have been super busy with her... I wasn't sure she liked me... but take notice that she is sitting with me... and within minutes, she was sleeping in my arms. I do believe I have become a mommy. She even thinks she's a lap dog... what will I do when she's 50 lbs of solid muscle?
I know when Rachel reads this she will be shaking her head knowing she advised me against getting a dog right now, but I am very happy with Zena, love her to pieces. Tim and I are trying to stay positive that
the housebreaking process goes smoothly. Feel free to offer suggestions on helping us with this.Zena is my first puppy ever. I remember we had a poodle or something like that when I was a kid, I think I was 6 when we got rid of him. So, Zena is all new to me. Tim is the "expert" but I think Zena is teaching us a lot!
I will add pictures as she grows and keep you updated on the housebreaking. Right now we are at ground zero. I guess it can only be uphill now!

Congratulations you guys! I'm happy for you. She will make your life better and you will love her to pieces I'm sure. even if they are a ton of work, dogs are positive additions to life, and I love the name Zena (or was it Xena?) love you!!!
Puppy potty training takes a lot of PATIENCE and consistency. My advice would be to get Zena used to "going out" on YOUR schedule. We have never had to take Brodie outside in the middle of the night, and it has been fabulous. Oh, and trust in "The Dog Whisperer". He's a genius. :) I'm so glad that you're having fun with Zena. She is adorable. ~Ercul
